Dort hatten wir das Gl\u00fcck bei einer einheimischen Familie zu leben. Wir hatten ein einfaches Zimmer mit Bett und Tisch \u2013 vollkommen ausreichend f\u00fcr uns!<\/p>\n<p>Lenscho und seine Frau Elena sind Gastgeber mit Herz &amp; Seele. Man kann mit ihnen zusammen kochen und so mehr \u00fcber die guatemaltekische Kultur erfahren. Sie haben sich st\u00e4ndig nach uns erkundetet, besonders als sie erfuhren, dass ich mit einer Magen-Darm-Infektion flach lag. Japp\u2026 Es hatte mich f\u00fcr einen Tag ganz sch\u00f6n ausgeknockt und ich durfte die Nacht auf dem Klo verbringen. Ein Gl\u00fcck war dies von nicht all zu langer Dauer und am zweiten Tag bereits wieder weg. Die Stra\u00dfen strahlen voller Malereien und Girlanden mit bunten H\u00fcten &amp; Schirmen schm\u00fccken den Anblick nach oben. Hier findet man tolle Restaurants, Caf\u00e9s und Souvenirshops. \u00a0Wir waren einfach dreimal im selben Restaurants namens <em>Maja Bistro<\/em> essen &#8211; dort war es aber auch echt lecker! \ud83d\ude42 Der Weg runter zum Hafen ist definitiv ein Spaziergang wert &#8211; hier findet man lauter Kulturwahrzeichen des Ortes. F\u00fcr wenig Geld sind wir mit dem Tuk Tuk nach <em>San Pedro<\/em> gefahren. Stra\u00dfenmalerei wird auch hier wieder gro\u00df geschrieben und man f\u00fchlt sich beim Schlendern durch die Stra\u00dfen, wie bei einem Kunst-Museumsbesuch! Hier wimmelt es nur so von Yoga-Pal\u00e4sten, \u00e4therischen \u00d6len, veganen Caf\u00e9s und nat\u00fcrlich jeder Menge Hippies!<\/p>\n<p>Wir fanden den Ort nicht so wirklich authentisch&#8230; irgendwie passte er so gar nicht zur guatemaltekischen Kultur, wie wir sie kennengelernt hatten. Es wirkte eher wie eine von US- Amerikanern erschaffene Wohlf\u00fchloase ganz nach dem Motto &#8211; Bali ist zu weit weg, also holen wir es uns etwas n\u00e4her zu uns!<\/p>\n<p>Doch wo wir auch nicht nein sagen konnten, war der deutschen B\u00e4ckerei einen Besuch abzustatten! Endlich&#8230; nach fast vier Monaten&#8230; <strong>RICHTIGES BROT<\/strong> !!! Wir waren im Himmel. Ja, so musste es sein. Und dazu gab es noch selbstgemachte Brombeermarmelade und frischen Kirsch-Streusel-Kuchen !!! Hmmmmm das war so so lecker! So haben wir es zumindest im Internet so erlesen!<\/p>\n<p>Am Sonntag fuhren wir mit einem kleinen Bus und anderen Touristen von <em>San Juan<\/em> ins zwei Stunden entfernte <em>Chichi<\/em> (in Guatemala verwendet man gern f\u00fcr alles und jeden Abk\u00fcrzungen). Der Markt erstreckte sich \u00fcber mehrere Stra\u00dfen und kleine Gassen. Von frischem Obst und Gem\u00fcse, lebendigen K\u00fcken und Hundewelpen bis hin zu Klamotten und selbst gemachten Schmuck war alles dabei. Nat\u00fcrlich durften auch handwerkliche Holzkunst und Webarbeiten nicht fehlen.<\/p>\n<p>Wir probierten vor Ort frische Mango, warme Pupusas und ein Mittagsmahl bestehend aus Reis, Gem\u00fcse und in Ei frittiertes Fleisch. Das besagte Mahl, welches mir vermutlich den Magen einen Tag sp\u00e4ter komplett umdrehte! Lasst uns also nicht weiter an diese Mahlzeit zur\u00fcckdenken.. F\u00fcr die Menschen hier vor Ort, besonders f\u00fcr die \u00e4ltere Generation, spielt der Glaube eine sehr wichtige Rolle. 95 Prozent der Einheimischen sind gl\u00e4ubig. Am h\u00e4ufigsten vertreten ist auch hier deas Christentum. Ebenso das Tragen der taditionellen Kleidung, welche die bunte kulturelle Vielfalt repr\u00e4sentieren sollen, ist hier noch stark vertreten. Wir haben die meistens Orte als eher \u00e4rmlich wahrgenommen. die Menschen hier geben sich mit den kleinen Dingen im Leben zufrieden, wie zum Beispiel zwei Kinder, die mit einem kaputten Staubsauger auf der Stra\u00dfe spielten. Am Ufer des Sees beobachteten wir die Frauen beim Waschen der Kleidung im Seewasser. Das Leben hier spielt definitiv auf der Stra\u00dfe und nicht mit Netflix und Chips auf der Couch.<\/p>\n<p>Der Kontrast zu Europa ist wirklich enorm.
